“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is the power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and freedom.”

What is hypnotherapy?

With hypnotherapy, it is important to clarify what it is not: It is not some hocus-pocus magic where I control your mind and make you do things against your will. Not at all!

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based, peer reviewed, practice.

In March 2020, the results of a Randomized Controlled Pilot Study (by Nicholas Olendzki, Gary R. Elkins, Elizabeth Slonena, Julia Hung & Joshua R. Rhodes) were published. The study was conducted in order to see whether Mindful Hypnotherapy could reduce stress and increase mindfulness. “Mindful hypnotherapy shows promise for being an effective intervention for decreasing stress. Given that the results for mindfulness and psychological flexibility were comparable or superior to mindfulness interventions delivered in a nonhypnotic context, this novel intervention shows potential for being a unique and a valuable contribution to stress reduction interventions.”

In addition to stress regulation,
studies show that Hypnotherapy can help with:

Insomnia
Gastrointestinal disorders
Anxiety
Depression
Pain management
Overcoming addictive disorders like cigarettes

In our hypnotherapy sessions we will bring to light, becoming consciously aware of the underlying beliefs, assumptions and triggers causing and perpetuating fear and discomfort.

We’ll discover the inner and outer obstacles preventing you from feeling at your peak.

With awareness and “neutral-compassion,” we’ll write a script where you have agency, power and control over the situation.

Then, I’ll guide you into a state of deep relaxation.

Once you’re fully relaxed, I’ll use the script we wrote together, to make and repeat suggestions that will help you, in your day to day life, to feel more confident and at ease.

Afterwards, we’ll review and tailor the script to make it as relevant and specific as possible in order for it to have the most beneficial impact.

How many sessions you will need is up to you. Hypnotherapy is a brief therapy. Once you have the tools, you have the power to reap the rewards of the practice. Practise is key. If you need more support in solidifying your practise, we can have as many sessions as you need in order for you to feel fully confident.
